5 Cambridge Center, MIT Building NE25, Room 746, McClintock Room

Abstract
Instant access to information and global resource are changing the very nature of core principles like work and management.  Organizations in the not distant future will look very different from what we are used to.  Relationships between individuals, organizational structure, and management processes all need to evolve to incorporate more open and fluid environments.  Mr. Hughes will talk about the evolution of TopCoder--one example of a company designed for an inter-connected world.

Speaker bio
In 2001, Mr. Hughes founded TopCoder, Inc. with the purpose of identifying the top computer software engineers worldwide. TopCoder is the world’s largest competitive software development community and uses a unique "virtual workforce" model that is combined with a large library of re-usable software components to build large-scale software applications for a growing list of Fortune 1000 companies.
